Ox Pasture Hall Courtyard Restaurant

Last Sunday we (me and hubby) were delighted to be invited to Ox Pasture Hall to dine in the AA Award winning Courtyard restaurant in Scarborough.
Ox Pasture Hall is located in the beautiful North York Moors National Park just a few minutes drive from the seaside town of Scarborough.

Ox Pasture is a popular venue for weddings, christening and other corporate events.
Not only does Ox Pasture Hall offer an amazing venue for events but they also have accommodation with 32 rooms set in the idyllic 17 acres of picturesque gardens and grounds. Weather you are looking for a simple night away or something more luxurious for that special occasion Ox Pasture can tailor to your needs.

We arrived at 5.30 for our meal where we were warmly greeted by waiter Paul and seated in the restaurant.
Our table was perfect, it over looked on to the front of Ox Pasture hall, its grounds and onto the near by Raincliffe woods.
We decided to order from the A La Carte Menu

View from our table.
Shortly after ordering our starters and mains we were brought a beautifully presented Pama Ham appetizer.

A selection of breads were later brought to the table that are all freshly made on the premises daily by the chef, both me and my husband opted for a delicious cheese and chive bread and we certainly weren't disappointed.

For starters I ordered the duck and my husband decided to order the ham, eggs and peas.

Duck
Confit duck salad, Duck liver parfait, cherry sorbet. Beautifully presented and full of flavour, I was pleasantly surprised how well the cherry sorbet really complimented the duck.

Ham, Egg Peas
Mini ham hock, pea mousse, crispy quail eggs, pickled vegetables, honey mustard dressing.
William enjoyed his starter, the presentation and attention to detail were again amazing.

Strawberry Consomm√©
After we had enjoyed our starters we had a Strawberry Consomm√©.

Pork
Slow cooked belly, tender lion stuffed with apricot and sage, savoy cabbage, sauteed potatoes, homemade black pudding & red onion marmalade.
I loved this dish, it was full of flavour the lion and apricot were simply delicious. I'm not a huge pork eater but I was certainly happy with my choice of main course,

Beef
Mini Beef filet, tender brisket of beef, creamed mash potato, mushroom duxelle baby turnip and carrots.
My husband loves his beef and this was no exception, the brisket melted in his mouth and the filet was cooked just as he liked it (medium/rare) topped off with the mash and rich gravy it was certainly a bit hit.

Pina Colada Sorbet

A Pina Colada sorbet was next to arrive and it was a perfect pallet cleanser, I really enjoyed this and simply couldn't wait for our desserts to arrive.

We ordered the Assiette of Deserts to share.
Assiette of Desserts
Wow, wow, wow!! Who doesn't like desserts? We were truly blow away by this and it was great to see such a selection as we were having difficulty choosing from the menu.
A true taste sensation with lemon cheese cake, raspberry milkshake, chilled mango rice pudding with a passion fruit sorbet. Needless to say between us we managed to polish them all off!

We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Ox Pasture Hall and plan to come back again soon, it certainly is a hidden gem in Yorkshire and we loved that The Courtyard Restaurant serves quality British food with an emphasis on local produce.
I hope to return to Ox Pasture Hall and hopefully have a child free evening in the hotel with the husband.

Thank you to all the staff from making us feel so welcome and thank you to the chef for an amazing dining experience.
